Ear infections
Has your dog been scratching her ears a lot, shaking her head, or rubbing her ears on furniture? Do her ears smell bad, or does she walk with her head cocked to one side? Do you notice any redness or dark colored goop in her ears that normally isn’t there?
All of these are indications of an ear infection. If your dog has an ear infection, he may show any combination of these symptoms, or sometimes none at all!
Ear infections can be caused by allergies, ear mites, foreign objects in the ear, or even hair growth deep in the ear canal. If you suspect your dog has an ear infection, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
People have a tendency to ignore ear infections, hoping they will clear up on their own. It is far easier to treat them early, and doing so can help prevent other problems later on.
